The Swiss Roger Federer (No. 2) and Stanislas Wawrinka ( No. 8 ) have not trailed Sunday on the courts of French Open Roland Garros, where they qualified smoothly to the second round.

For his 17th appearance (consecutive ) at French Open , Federer had no trouble getting rid , in 1 h 50 min , the Colombian Alejandro Falla , 111th worldwide in three sets : 6-3 , 6-3, 6 -4 .

Falla had managed to disrupt the Switzerland one day in June 2010 at Wimbledon, where he had driven to a match in five sets in the first round . But on clay the gap between the two players is much more important . The Colombian lucky loser tried soon as he could set up his game of attack. But he never could disorganize the defense of Federer.

The Swiss , who was eliminated in the fourth round last year by Latvian Ernests Gulbis , future semifinalist , also showed full control over his service ( two break points and saved granted ) . He will face the next round Spaniard Marcel Granollers or German Matthias Bachinger , resulting qualifications .

Federer could cross Wawrinka in the quarterfinals. His compatriot was faster (1 h 36 min ) to spread the Turkish Marsel Ilhan (82 ) in three sets : 6-3 , 6-2, 6-3.

The Vaudois has to forget his defeat in the first round last year against Spaniard Guillermo Garcia- Lopez. This setback was all the more surprised that he won a few months earlier at the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of his career.

A little inconsistent from the beginning of 2015 , Wawrinka played a full match against a player who has won two of its last 19 games against a member of the top 100
