About Layla Hassan
I am Layla Hassan, Fashion Editor at MyBreezyLife — and I believe that fashion should feel exciting, not safe. I have spent 12 years writing about style for UK women, and the one thing I keep coming back to is this: the best dressed women are the ones who actually wear what they love, not what they think they are supposed to wear.
Background
I grew up in East London to Egyptian parents, studied Fashion Communication at Nottingham Trent University, and have spent my career writing about style across the full spectrum of UK women’s fashion — from mainstream high street trends to modest fashion and hijab styling. I spent three years as a senior fashion editor at a UK modest fashion brand before joining MyBreezyLife, where I now cover everything fashion-related on the site.
My approach
I cover UK fashion in its entirety — the trends, the high street finds, the outfit formulas that actually work, and the specific challenges and joys of dressing modestly in Britain in 2026. I write for all UK women. And I write a hijab styling section into every fashion article, because that specific knowledge is something I have spent 15 years building — and it belongs in every fashion conversation.
My style
I wear hijab and I am obsessed with colour. Burnt orange co-ords, cobalt blue satin hijabs, clashing prints from Brick Lane markets, oversized vintage blazers that cost £8 and look like a million pounds. Modest fashion in 2026 is not beige and it is not boring — and I am here to prove it.
What I cover
All UK women’s fashion trends — seasonal, occasion, workwear, casual · Modest fashion and hijab styling for every occasion and budget · UK high street — ASOS, M&S, Zara, River Island, H&M, Primark, Next · Bold and experimental modest looks that push past ‘safe’ · Vintage and sustainable fashion in the UK · Capsule wardrobes, outfit formulas, and practical style guidance.
