Two teenagers in shark attacks in a coastal town in the US state North Carolina have been seriously injured . The first victim was a young female who had been bitten off a part of her left arm , said the mayor of Oak Iceland , Betty Wallace , the television station WECT . The girl also threatened with the loss of her left leg .
Just over an hour later, a 16 - year-old was attacked by a shark . He had thereby lost an arm , Wallace said. The two teenagers were flown to nearby hospitals . " I saw people trying to help "

The shark attack on the girl took place near a fishing pier at Oak Iceland , one located on the Atlantic coast city . Present beach visitors reported horror scenes . " I saw someone wearing the girl ( from the water ) and people around buzzed and tried to help ," said the eyewitness Steve Bouser .
The victim had bled a lot , Bouser said. People have invested their time to make them busy and asked questions to keep them conscious. It was " pretty nightmarish " Bouser added.
The authorities sent an SUV to get everyone out of the water . The sheriff's office in the district of Brunswick wanted helicopters for patrols stand out above the coast , said Mayor Wallace . Since 1995, no shark attacks from the area have been reported .
