More than 150 Pilgrims killed near Mecca during Hajj - Saudi TV
A stampede left at least 150 Pilgrims killed near Mecca and 390 injured Thursday, September 24 , in Mina , near Mecca , where some two million pilgrims gathered to perform the Hajj , the largest annual pilgrimage of Muslims , reported the Saudi television channel al Ekhbariya , citing emergency services. Rescue operations are underway , said these services in a tweet , hinting that the toll could be heavier .
At least 150 pilgrims killed near Mecca on Thursday in a crush at Mina, outside the Muslim holy city of Makkah, where some two million people are performing the annual haj pilgrimage, Saudi Arabia's Al-Ekhbariya television reported. The news channel also cited civil defence officials as saying that about 400 people were injured in the incident.

Saudi Arabia has mobilized 100,000 police officers for the pilgrimage that has hitherto known no major incidents . However, it was preceded by the fall , September 11 , a crane on the expansion site of the Great Mosque of Mecca , who made 109 dead and over 400 wounded, according to a latest report .
According to Saudi authorities , 1.4 million pilgrims have come from abroad this year and hundreds of thousands within the Kingdom .
